AT A GLANCE - FY2009

The Pettengill House, Inc.  is a community social service agency that continues to provide services to meet the growing needs of individuals, children and families in its service area.  The Pettengill House, Inc. provides basic needs, emergency assistance, prevention education, case management, and supports to residents of Salisbury, Amesbury, Newburyport, Merrimac, West Newbury, Newbury, Rowley, Byfield and Groveland.

During FY2009 The Pettengill House, Inc. had a great many success stories and rich growth in the areas of agency development, community support and needs assessment.



By the numbers

* Interventions and Support services to 2,700 clients (1,689 adults and 1,011  children 468 of who were homeless) (increase of 115 clients from FY 2008)

* Distribution of 240 backpacks and school supplies (4 year total 1,588)

* Distribution of 628 winter coats to adults and children of all ages (2 year total 1,234 coats)

* School Linked Service Supports to 690 students and their families (increase of 72 students from FY 2008)

* 148,540 meals provided through food pantry and meals program (increase of 41,070 meals from FY 2008)

* 43 children were provided free dental care through our Massachusetts Dental Society Foundation's Mobile Access to Care Van (2 year total of 113 children and $38,382 in donated services)

* Mass Health Insurance to 91 adults and 48 children

* Food Stamp applications to 89 adults and 53 children

* Emergency Assistance Funds in the amount of $27,856.41
